Melbourne City Council Water Recycling Plant (CH2)

This plant recovers sewerage waste for reuse within the building. About 100,000 litres of "Black" (toilet) water a day is extracted from the sewer, along with any generated on site. The blackwater is put through a mulit water treatment plant that filters out the water and sends solids back to the sewer. The extracted water is treated through a two stage membrane process to create A Grade clean water suitable for all non-drinking uses. The recovered water supplies the council buildings water cooling, plant watering and toilet flushing needs. The rest will be used in other council buildings, city fountains and gardens.

Centre For Performing Arts Ballarat

The unique feature of this building is the Thermal Labyrinth that passively cools and ventilates the auditorium from below ground. Air is drawn under the building where it is cooled by being passed through a series of tunnels embedded in the soil. Shower towers are used to assist in cooling the outside air on very hot days, before entering the labyrinth using recycled water. The building is heated by hydroninc heating through the floor slab

Manningham City Council

Control Solution for a Growing Council

Cortrols Temperature Systems have installed a Genesis II system in the offices and conference centre of Manningham City Council. The Innotech system enables control and monitoring of temperature, ventilation, CO2 levels, and general mechanical services; monitoring and logging of power and gas consumption; and monitoring and logging of heating hot water and chilled water flow metering. .....more
